Library’s ‘election’ lets kids participate in process

Standard

The Children’s Room of the Queens Public Central Branch Library (91-14 Merrick Blvd) is giving “under age” library users the opportunity to vote for President on Nov. 4, in an effort to teach important democratic principles. Librarians, who are encouraging patrons to exercise the right to vote, are discussing issues such as the one-person-one-vote principle with the kids.

Ballots will be counted, then charted as part of ongoing math exercises. Rumor has it that Queens Library at Central conducts children’s balloting for every presidential election!!!
